NEWS: D31 Art Gallery, 2022 Photography Prize

Exciting news! A photograph by Holly, entitled ‘Looking back while moving forward’ has been longlisted for the D31 Photo Prize 2022. The online exhibit and public voting began on the 30th September and the final 30 will be printed and exhibited in the gallery in Doncaster.

The exhibition can be viewed by clicking here, where you can also vote for Holly’s image to be exhibited in the D31 Art Gallery. The public vote will end 7th October. Below is the selected image and its accompanying statement:

“The work is based around the way in which life passes by slowly, but looking back it went in the blink of an eye. If you looked back on the past 10 years of your life it would feel like only months had passed, when at the time it felt like forever. It's about forgetting pieces of your life for no other reason than the sheer volume and speed of living, and it is only when reminiscing you start to fill in the gaps, reliving bittersweet memories. For me, that's where nostalgia lies.”

This comes just months after Holly was longlisted for the D31 Art Prize 2022 in July. Holly would like to thank the D31 team for the opportunity to share her work again with the wider community.
